Points to Ponder
"Joy to the World" ... The Lord has come."
These eight simple words of a favorite hymn ignite radiant
faces throughout our churches on Christmas Eve.
Yet, just as the angels proclaimed "JOY" to a waiting world
over 2,000 years ago, how much more is this fruit of the Holy
Spirit and Hallmark of Christian life needed today.
It goes without saying that many of the world's people still
listen for that angelic message of joy first exploded over a
cold Bethlehem sky.
Today we must give thanks for thousands of people freed up
in recent centuries from the bondage of evil and oppression.
Harder still, is pondering the millions still awaiting Good
News. And knowing how much they await the Good news of
Salvation.
Pray for the gift of joy this Christmas season, especially for
those still awaiting its dawning in their lives.
"Joy to the world ... Let earth receive her King."
